National Geographic January 2015 issue is exploring old and new scientific wonders of the Universe, such as the origins of life, and the existence of new worlds, moons, and planets around other stars. The foreward hints at plans for humans to travel beyond the moon to Mars and learn from the “golden tail of an ancient comets” to discover the building blocks of the Universe. The reputable magazine further lays out facts about how our Universe is expanding. And it acknowledges a host of unsolved mysteries, all of which are scientifically focused at a macro level, none of which include the impact of the Universe on the patterns on human life, which for now is reserved for Astrologers to study, which they have been doing for centuries.
As-trol-o-gy itself is defined by Merriam Webster Dictionary as:
the study of how the positions of the stars and movements of the planets have a supposed influence on events and on the lives and behavior of people.
It is also referred to as “divination.
Regardless of Astrology’s current definition, or whether or not it is recognized by modern day science as a valid field of study, until science and spirituality, including the study of Astrology are recognized as pathways to the same truth, they may remain separate and misunderstood by the majority of the population. This does not however negate the truth of any of these. It does however, inspire me to further explore how these new and ancient discoveries of the Universe impact us as “micro beings” within this larger “macro Universe”.
Like a fetus in the womb impacted without question by the environment in which he/she is living, could it be that the “environment of the Universe” in which we live makes a difference in our daily lives? Could it be helpful to be aware of the “influence of planets on events, our lives and behaviors?” If the Universe is expanding and new planets are being formed, what does that mean for us? If we are business owners, do the “positions of the stars” have an influence on our daily affairs and success? And, is it possible with more conscious awareness of this influence that we can find greater self awareness, improve our relationships, and make better health and business decisions? Could this knowledge further be a missing key that could help us reach our greatest destiny or greatest success of our business or cause?
My personal experience is that it can make a difference in all of the above. To provide a brief example as it relates to my own business, I recently had an Astrology reading with Heather Roan Robbins, a twin cities based Astrologer who has been practicing Astrology for 40 Years.
Self described as a daughter of a mathematician father and psychiatric nurse mother, two skill sets that blend together in astrology, my reading with Heather affirmed my current vision (in Astrology language) to be “generating my resources” in my business through “communicating” and facilitating “healing” and “transformation for others. Why? Because of how many planets were lined up in my second house of resources, including Pluto and Uranus, this has led to MANY transformational events in my life, which has in turn led to a deepening value I place on transformation and acknowledging & facilitating that for others, a certain “destiny” of sorts. And, as I continue to follow this prompting, (interestingly built into my birth chart), the patterns of my chart indicate that my abundance will grow more consistently, rather than go through “ups” and “downs, I have experienced to date. (partly due to an impact of Uranus, “planet of sudden change” in my second house of resources.)
Thus, having a multimedia production company that is helping holistic health, transformation and social good based businesses better reach their market (to help their clients heal & transform) through a variety of promotional / educational photography video services and “creating films that inspire, promote, educate & awaken new frontiers of health & human potential” is a fit.
Without going into the details at this time, I also became more of way of patterns that have contributed to how I’ve held myself back. For example, as I saw how “spirituality” a primary lens to the world for me, and central to me authentically expressing my vision, was not necessarily a valid primary lens in my parent’s charts, it makes sense to me that this would have influenced my formative years of self identity and belief in putting this first.
I also asked one of Heather’s clients in a recent photo shoot about what she found helpful and whether she thought Astrology can be a useful tool for business owners. Below is a summary of her reply;
“Heather combined the science of Astrology with her significant intuitive abilities to show me a clear picture of my characteristics and the relationship of them to career, friendships, family, and my spiritual path
I have a difficult relationship with my daughter and have tried every means I know to heal it. Heather brought information to me that was extremely helpful to continue the healing of that relationship. Some of it was about past lives and some of it about my daughter’s chart that helps me better understand her.
In terms of business, there is a very practical side to using Astrology. The chart can give simplified information about when it is best to start or end an endeavor and what needs to be in place to have a greater possibility of success. The view from an Astrological perspective is a broader higher view that sees all the factors involved. This can then become another tool for realization of goals in business and career. It’s like having a very wise business partner.”
Whether you are new to Astrology or you are an avid follower like I am, you may find “value in seeing how the past influences the present, how patterns form and how certain options of choice in the future can lead to a happier more fulfilled life.” You may also find value in having the current and upcoming “Astrological forecast” to know metaphorically speaking whether to “dress for a sunny day or “bring your umbrella.”
Lastly, although I did not cover the “scientific” details in this story, should this peak your interest, perhaps you may want to investigate for yourself though your own research, the science that does abound to validate the truth of Astrology and learn from your own experience by taking a class, reading a book or having a reading.
